What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Veterinary Physiotherapy aims to maintain mobility and function, and enhance performance, whether your animal is recovering from injury, surgery, illness, or age related issues. Treating competition, companion and working animals, veterinary physiotherapists are experts in musculoskeletal movement and exercise prescription, and using thorough assessment and clinically reasoned treatment, are able to promote healing, reduce pain, restore function and prevent injury recurrence. For sound, healthy animals veterinary physiotherapy helps to optimise performance and maintain health and independence.

"Sophie has treated both my cob x tb mare who can be very tense and tight, and our little JR terrier who experienced a sudden dramatic back trauma. In both cases Sophie immediately put both animals at ease, her quiet calm and experienced approach is second to none, she explained every step of the treatment carried out and recommended exercises that I could carry out myself to aid the relaxation of my mare and recovery of our little dog. In both cases the difference that Sophie’s care brought about was excellent. She also liaised with our vet to discuss a treatment plan for our dog that would work together with the medication he was being given through the acute phase of his injury and then on into the recovery phase, as for my mare, she is now happier, more relaxed and moving so much more freely. In short I cannot recommend Sophie highly enough and sincerely thank her for all the improvement she’s facilitated in both our animals."
